October 2nd- Well another week has passed and there are no big fish to report...I am just back from the Barnegat Light
Heavers picnic at Manahawkin Lake and the big fish awards make all of us excited for the fall run...Jason DP took first
place with a 44 pounder...Mike D. took first place in the bluefish division with a 12 lb 10 oz fish...The Heavers also
had their annual fishing tournament on Saturday...Pam F. won with 11 lbs of kingfish...Mike DB came in second...I was
the washing machine on Friday late and had several bluefish to 2 pounds...the action is just on the horizon...A quick
that there are still good numbers left at the store, so sign up for the derby and "select, don't settle"...See you all
next weekend...tight lines and fresh baits...Bob
October 11th--What a weekend! Head is still spinning from the all of the activity, the DERBY kickoff, and
celebrating!! The weekend started off with a bang! Beautiful weather and weigh-ins to start the day off on a
positive note. Congrats to "Crazy Pete" from the Heaver's Fishing Club weighing in a
22lb15oz striper, and to Jeff S with a 30lb5oz striper. Nice, very nice! Those weigh-ins added to the buzz of what
is sure to be a great tournament run. Our store saw lots of returning fall faces, and happy to see new ones as well. Looking forward
to seeing everyone over, and over, and over again. "Red Fred" can tell ya---our customers are taken care of!!!!
So......Derby kickoff, nice weigh-ins from great fishermen, Sunday's blue fish blitz, man-cave was opened....nothing left to do, but
smile, smile, smile!!!!
See ya at the store, and hopefully, on the beach! Until then..."same bait time, same bait channel" thanks Joe!!!

October 16th...hope all is well...the small bass and bluefish seem to be the big catch. BL was the place this morning with Frank, Greg and myself hooking up in the 30 to 32 inch class fish.
Congrats to Ed J., Steady Joe T, Frank P., Moonphase Bob and Drew P. for their nice weigh ins. The water is still warm so the action is slow. Kingfish are around and the small black drum
are also in the wash. Fish bites for both. The tog fishing is excellent using green crabs. Try big jetty in Barnegat Light. The deeper water is close to the concrete walk so don't walk
past the fish. We carry green crabs and the fishing is fun. Blowfish are in the bay with clam chum and squid bits for baits. Keep watching the leader board since there will be changes this
Our store tournament still has some empty numbers so stop by and sign up. 100% payout with 50% to the winner, 30% to second place and 20% to third place. Going back out fishing, will see you
on the beach...Bob
October 23rd...I spent the evening in Brant Beach in search of the elusive striper. Where are all the night fisherman? The Merchantville Fishing Club group were in BL last night working the
night bite...Bass to 25 lbs. have been caught coming over the bar at the high tide. Just ask John O' and Paul. They took their bass in BL. Looks like Holgate is also picking up. Two
bass were weighed from Holgate. Kingfish are still in the surf. Our own Bruce will teach you how to live line them for larger bass. Tog are being caught on the BL jetty. November 1st the
limit increases to 6 fish. We still carry green crabs. The new product lines from the tackle shows are beginning to arrive. Stop by and check out the new items. We are upgrading our inventory
to handle all of your requests. I hope the fellow who lost the waders on the beach gives us a call. Congrats to all the weigh ins this week...Bob
October 30th...20 lb bass have been weighed in all week...the usual suspects include Moonphase, my soon to be son in law, Richie D., Brian J., Frank H., Kevin P. and Team Mullet menbers, Mark J. and Ray S.,
By the way Ray is working on winning the bluefish division since he already won the bass division last year...Tog are still being caught on the jetty and around back in the rocks...Stop by and give us your
report...Bob
