November 27th- Well, the weekend is coming to a close and so is the tournament...Sadly, I think
I should review some of the beach etiquette we all expect...Driving on the beach is a privilege
given to those who buy passes from each individual township...With that, some basic rules must be
followed...For safety reasons, speeding to your favorite fishing site or to catch the bite is both dangerous
and illegal...This year I have witnessed drivers using excessive speed to catch up with the bird play...
This only helps the property owners make their case against driving on the beach...They have already
tried to stop us and with the crazy driving this year they will...Those who do cannot see at night should not
drive on the beach in the dark...I fish in the evening and am amazed by the number of drivers who drive
with their high beams on and stay near the water...When coming over the dune turn off your lights until you make
your turn to the north or the south...Then follow the tracks at the dune line...Avoid shining your headlights
into the water...When turning towards the water turn off your lights so you do not interfere with any ones
fishing...Also, do not shine your headlights towards the people fishing...It causes night blindness...Let's
be considerate for everyone's enjoyment...Now to the good stuff...Several of our weigh ins this week were caught
on bait in addition to metal...It is good to see the hours of hard work rewarded with nice fish...Bob

release a 11lb 6oz Blue on a metal too!
They say Harvey
Cedars is the place ( Rich goodman just came in with a 15.5lb bass from HC saying lots of dinner sized Bass are still there) so there are a ton of folks up there ,

Nov20th...I was pondering about all the friendships I have made over the years of fishing the
fall tournament...As Thanksgiving is coming upon us let's all reflect a moment and wish all those
whom we meet on the beach good tidings...We look forward to seeing all of our fall friends and miss
those who are not here...The fishing has been great this week with the sand eel hatch and the
arrival of the bunker schools...Congrats to Sue's two sons for their first bass today...Bruce put
both Cole and Holden on nice fish...Cole had a 15+ lb fish and Holden caught a perfect dinner size fish...
It was special to see Don E's daughter Wendy weigh in two nice bass...The larger one was 21+ lb...I want to

If you haven't been checking out the Tournament web
site the news is that there have been so many Stripers and blues caught in the past few days

mostly on Bunker too ! Tim Stumpf took over first place in the shops Striper pool with a 39lb 1oz bass caught in Loveladies on Bunker! Although alot have been
caught on Ava jigs type lures as well , bellys still filled
with Sand eels !Check out our pictures , finally had the
bright idea of changing the pic size on the camera and now
we can put on as many as we can !!We have plenty of fresh bunker and clams in !
Nov 13th- The Ides of November are upon us and the big fish have yet to arrive...But, this weekend saw
Breezeway Frank and his long term fishing partner Lynn weigh in several bass and release even more...
John weighed in another bass from Barnegat Light and Brendan M. weighed in one from Holgate...Both were
in the 20 lb class...Greg O'C and his dad John O'C took the boys out for a the day in the surf...The winds
picked up and they decided there was more action watching the Eagles game...Marcella from Surf City showed
her brothers how to catch a 12 lb bluefish in the surf...Nice work...The regulars were bunched up
today picking up a few bass on the north end of the Island...I brought my nephew, Shane E. from Newton, NJ
out on the beach for some early morning action...The Barnegat Light Heavers had their meeting at the store
Saturday Night...Many thanks to Sue for allowing us to use the facilities...The existing slate of officers
were elected to continue for another year...Thanks to all the guys who helped Sue pack out the bunker this
week...Who said Chivalry is dead...Finally, Capt Santiago of the Santana reported that the bass outside the
inlet today were all in the 20 lb. class...Special note to all the plug fishermen on the Island...Mike Went,
a long time plugger and all around great guy was struck by a car at work last week and is recovering after
major surgery...Please be sure to wish him well...tight lines and sharp hooks...Bob
