5/2/2013- What a day! Sorry not for fishing for me at least. Today is Amy's 30th Birthday, and my older brother and Sister in law just welcomed a new Baby to the family. Emily Elizabeth 7lbs, 3oz. and it looks like Mike and Shannon will be welcoming the twins later today. What a day!

I am hearing of loads of little bass with some nice keepers mixed in along the beach, and BLUEFISH! Incomming tide has been producing. I spent yesterday from 1:00am-7:00am plugging the bridges and the beach with no luck. Doesnt mean there are no fish, just means I didnt pull the right plug out of my collection. Sometimes I wish i only bait fished, take all the thought out of it. Last night after work I hit the end of seven bridges road and plugged again throwing bucktails and swimmers at the last bridge and at the end of the road on the last out the outgoing tide from 6:00-9:00 and again couldnt find a strike. But I read reports of fish on Clams on the incommig. It seems to be all about tides. Well I am going to try and get back to work until I get to run up the hospital and meet my new family member!

5/4/2013- 7:23am- WHAT A MORNING! Mike and I slipped out to catch the last half of the incoming tide at a spot that I have been scouting for a while now and was finnaly able to find the right tide/wind/water temp combo. Boy was I happy he brought clams. I wanted to plug he wanted to bait fish (the story of our fishing lives), right off the bat as soon as he wet a clam, his rod bent and came tight to the tune of a 17 1/2 bass. I got excited thinking there would be more fish and maybe i could find one on a plug or two, before I knew it, he came tight to another. 12 lbs. Then a massive MASSIVE shooting star which was pretty cool. Then He came tight to yet another fish as i was throwing everything in the bag. When I saw that he has another 15pound plus fish landed, I gave into peer pressure, threw a clam on and was IMMEDIATLY rewarded with a 13.5lb bass that i quickly posed for a blurry photo taken by my long time friend, who has a few really clear photos of his fish from tonight..... and let him swim away. Mike landed a few more, only one was small, and it still measured out to be 29". When the sun came up i took a few throws with an SP minnow and was greated to a bluefish. And on my next cast, a wind knot took the SP and sent her sailing away. So here I am, Been awake since 1:00am, and I have to be at work in Medford by 8:45, I reak of fish I have already had a great day. Lets see if I can make it all the way through. Time for a quick Shower and Shave. GEt out there and enjoy your day!

5/5/2013-10:00pm- I am exausted. Fished early am (midnight-4am) We had two bass to 16 pounds and a blue. All on clam. I know the surf has been up with the wind, but it has been extreamly fishable. Most people heading up to the beach are reporting at least a few bluefish if not bluefish and bass. If you notice the size of the fish are getting bigger, we went from mostly shorts last week, to many keepers being reported this week. And with two tides that I have had all my fish be well over legal size, this just tells me the run is well underway. So Get fishing.

I Have heard some very promising reports of big tiderunner weakfish coming through around the bridges. Many folks are finding weakfish, remember this time of year many of the bigger weakfish are full of eggs. As good as fish taste, remember pratice photo catch and release. Then upload the photos to our facebook page. I have been uploading some photos and am working with Sue to get a photo section up on our main page here. If you send it through to facebook I will work on getting them posted over here.

I know we have at least one bass on our shop tournament board around 17lbs. And I saw a fish entered into Simmply Bassin ay 17lbs 2 oz.

The wind kept my Sunday Boat day at the dock which was good, I got to catch up on some sleep this morning and Amy and I took a ride through Holgate. Remember, many folks are still dealing with the effects of SUperstorm Sandy. Please respect those who are working and getting things back to normal, and pitch in if you can.

Get fishin!

5/8/2013-9:30am- What a rainy slow day. I have been hearing of good reports latly, and had planned on heading out after work this afternoon. But as it turns out Amy's nice Jeep has a dead battery, looks like I get to be responsible and stay home today.

Reports of good tide runners in the bay, fluke are starting to appear, and at least 2 fish that I know of are on the Simply Bassin Board. Get out there and fish. Bluefish everywhere hitting both metal and bait, bass hitting bucktails small swimmers and bait, and weakfish hitting both plugs and bait. Time to get back to work. T

5/9/2013 10:45am- well it turned out to be a fun night. I fished alongside Pat in the big water holding with 12oz. He was throwing smaller chunks and picking off blues pretty much non stop from the moment we put the bait in the water. I picked off a skate at the start, then a blue. Then It happened. I was holding my head rod, and my chunk rod went down HARD, line peeling off the drag as and I couldnt get to the rod fast enough. WHen I got to it, the fish was gone. No marks on the leader, I missed a solid fish. As I was cursing myself for missing it, I had another blue. Then about 20 minutes before dark, my head went down hard. I got that guy, beached a nice fat 14.5 pound bass. She swam away after Pat was nice enough to take a photo with it (see the photos section I will upload it in a few minutes). Pat a few nice bumps and I left him at the change of the tide. I sure would love to know how he did. Either way, the fish are out there, get on it. Bluefish action is great and when you can pick between the blues the bass are definatly around. Get on it!~Tight Lines

5/10/2013-10:45a- Simply put, GO FISHING. Bass Blues, Skates, Searobbins, Blowfish, Drum, all reported in the last 2 days. and I am seeing photos pop up on my phone of HUGE BASS. Get out there. I will be doing an EARLY morning trip before work, and then I think a Boat ride on Sunday. GET OUT THERE! ~Brendan

5/10/2013-11:48- Sue just got a load of bunker in! Reports of schools of bunker off Seaside, I am really regretting making plans tonight! OHHH WELL!~Tight Lines~Brendan

5/13/2013-10:03am- It seems it was a productive weekend. I personally didnt get much time in from the storms that passed through Saturday Night. Headed out on the boat Sudnday Morning and found bluefish feeding in the inlet which proved to be fun first thing on light tackle. Trolled along the beach front coudlnt find a thing. Moved back inside when the wind picked up and found a few bumps on clam, and then had nice run off. We boated a fat 18lb fish. Then a few more bluefish stealing the bait before we called it a afternoon and headed in. I hear some decent action on the beach front on both clam and bunker. Get out there and fish, it should be a beautiful weekend.~Tight Lines

5/14/2013-8:05am- It sure is cold this morning. Quick Report. I heard a rumor of a school of bunker off Holgate area that had bass under it. Great news. I knew it would bust open any day now. I am also hearing of guys doing well with Bunker spoons offshore fish up to 37lbs. Kingfish have been reported in the bay. along with big blowfish. The bluefish ranging from 3-7lbs are all over the place hitting metal AVA jigs in the surf, red tails seem to hold something special for them. Bass are hitting chunks and clam in the surf. The larger fish are hitting the bunker, while skates are taking chunks and clam as well. It should warm up nice today, if you are lucky you can find some time to get out and hit the suds. Top fish for Simply Bassin is 30lbs. Get out there.

5/15/2013- If you have a boat, get offshore and troll bunker spoons if you are able. Holy bass batman. Bass to 52lbs have been reported hitting big bunker spoons. I snuck out of work early yesterday, and tried to head offshore to troll myself and found my gas situation and time of day left me with not enough gas to do what I wanted. Instead we stayed inside and threw plugs and boy did we have fun. Bluefish EVERY cast at the very bottom of the tide. We lost count. So many hitting so hard that they actually broke a brand new bomber on us. I will upload the photo of that when i get home. Get fishing. ~Tight Lines, ~Brendan

5/21/2013- Web cams look like today would be perfect. Lots of bass and blues to be had on bunker. bass are responding more and more to plugs (which makes me happy). I managed a quick trip Sunday morning in search of some fluke by boat. We managed to boat three in the hour we were out with on keeper. Get out there!. Tight Lines~Brendan
