So far this weekend has been great for sunbathing, beach combing and enjoying the first summer weekend. The
south wind continues to lower the water temperature and push the mussel grass into the holes. Bass are being caught consistantly,
with John O' taking over the lead in the store tournament. Nice job John with that 30 lb 13 oz fish. Pushed Joe C. into second place
and Greg L. fell off the leader board. Other notable weigh ins were George K. with a 31 lb linesider, Andy brought in a 20+ pound fish
and to all the others who caught dinner. Joe C. continues to filet fish but, they are not his. Ask him and maybe he will filet yours
also. We always have the freshest bunker and clams for the beach. The frozen, fresh and live fluke baits are alos now in stock.
Join us for some fishing talk and information.

Thank you.

much going on except at the last hour or so
of the incoming some 30+ inch bass were headed
to their least fav fisherman's dinner table. We do

May 22nd
Once again Joe C. brings in the big fish. His 30 lb 3 oz bass pushed Tim S out of 1st place in the store tournament. Greg L. weighed in a nice 28 lb 2 oz
to edge Joe T. out of the running. Joe T. is fishing hard to get back into it. I expect a good showing from him this week. Several other weigh ins have topped 15 lbs.
The boats have been successful locating pods of bunker and snagging them. We weighed in fish to 41 lbs. Reports of fish in all the usual locations have brought out the
regulars and the fish are there. Looks like the weather pattern of rain, going to rain and just rained is holding and the upcoming week might be sketchy. Call ahead for
the latest conditions. The night bite is picking up. Let's remember to use the red or green lights only. A charter group fished Barnegat Light on Friday night and lit
up the entire beach with extra bright white lights. The surf guide did not have control of the group and spoiled the evening for several of the regulars. A little
consideration and we can all catch fish. Joe just packed the bunker and clams were delivered this morning. We have turned on the freezer for fluke baits and the minnows
will be delivered this week. Tight lines to all.

least have fresh clams on board , and hopefully bunker

Bass are on the beach. Several nice weigh ins yesterday and today. Mike D. was high hook with a 35 lb, Mike B. had a good showing with a 21 lb, Dennis had a 23 lb, Joe C. weighed in his 14 lb and Steve D.
had a 10 lb. Most fishermen reported releasing fish to 36". Bluefish were caught by both Ted and Greg on the big jetty. Bob M. fishing with Bredan C. returned several bass back to the sea. Marty S. also reported fish in
Loveladies. Coast Ave and Dolphin remain hot locations. The south end of the island is also getting play with Joe C. keeping a lid on the info. Stop by and he will give you the latest on where they are. We welcome
all our new and old customers with the freshest bait and the freshest information available.

Not a lot of reports yesterday , Bob M. reported Bass and blues in Barrnegat Light , also a few reports of Bass in Brant Beach around 79th street.

Simply Bassn is getting more interesting thanks
to Tim Stumpf,
of Elkins Park , first time out this year and he landed in
first place with a 28lb 12oz Striper !Tim says he caught
another one 2 inches smaller and not as fat , which he released
.So now Joe is kicked off the shops striper pool ( temperary
I'm sure)where he'd been in third place with a 9lb 5oz Bass he caught on Sunday!
We have fresh bunker ( last night) and are expecting clams along with all the other shops !
This past week end was great , lots of Bass , My hubby,Dad, and son all caught keepers too in Brant Beach all on clam.No
reason it's slowed down , just a lack of folks out there fishing , bunker is out there along with diving birds, so go get em !! Barbie
MAY 8TH
Special report from Barnegat Light on Saturday...Stripers and more stripers...From pink sky to top of the tide...Everyone caught and several were weighed in at the store...
Notables were Old Moon Phase Bob B. with two over 34", Crazy Pete with a 36" big boy and Joe C with just under 10 lbs...Bob M and the rest of the crew also weighed in 30+" size fish...It was good to see
Tobacco Jack's son Paul on the beach...He weighed in the last catch of the day...Starting this morning, the west wind reduced the take with only Joe C. weighing in a fish...Fish were caught on both
bunker and clam...The back bay produced a few short fluke with only rumors from our regulars of a keeper or two...Try Double Creek Channel or High Bar Creek for early season success...Stop by to
to get the latest reports and the freshest bait...Tight lines to all...
MAY 6TH

May 3rd
Much nicer weather then they were calling for,
yesterday not as nice but some Bass
were caught , mostly on clams , lack of Bunker might have something to do with that !Joe Thiel had 2 keeper one weighed in here at the shop , 16 lbs and 3oz , 35 1/2 inch . Joe C. was fishing with him and got a short and a Skate.
Seemed to be a high tide thing as the bite died soon after.Quite a few folks came in for bait after seeing "some guy pulling in Bluefish" good to hear , hope that keeps up and makes up for the lack of Blues last year.
5/1- Reports have continued to filter in from the north end of the Island.
Old Moon Phase had several bass Saturday evening with the largest being 33".
He left Loveladies headed for Atco with two 33" fish from this weekend. Good work Bob.
Teddie grabbed a 34" bass off the dyke before heading to the Flyers game. Even Okracoke Jim managed
to get in on the action. Meanwhile Bob M. watched the "Metal Man" get a double
header on both the teaser and the Hopkins in the suds on the BL Bar. Shortly therafter Bob was rewarded
with a 31" bass and a 29" Black Drum. So stop by and see Joe, Barb or Bob for all your tackle needs. While you are there be sure to sign up for the store tournament.
Only $10 and all the money goes to the winners. Tight lines and fresh bait til next weekend...
